Accurate Regrinding has done a fantastic job for us over the past several years. The quality of their work is spot on and the turn-around on the carbide cutters and drills is always very prompt. We benefit from them regrinding and re-coating cutters at a fraction of the replacement cost. They have always been there when we have emergency situations as well. Tracking Your Tools

  • Unique Customer Data

    The cobalt laser machine etches unique customer data on each tool. We use this to glean valuable tracking information as your tools are processed through our facility, to our coaters and on their way back to you.

  • Prevent of Loss or Mixup

    We prevent the loss or mix up of tools as they pass between the grind shop, and the coating supplier and effectively track the entire journey of the sharpened tool. This ensure the products are tracked and returned exactly as they are sent.

Walker Tool & Die has had a long standing relationship with Accurate. Scott and Guy have done a fantastic job of keeping up to date on the latest technologies. This ensures we are receiving the same geometry on our reground tooling as when it was new. Scott has worked with us on some coating alternatives that have paid huge dividends also.   • Reduced Cycle Times

    The edge-prepping, or honing, of a cutting tool is done by radiusing the tool edge to reduce the sharpness. Utilizing this technology has proven to be one of the most effective means of accomplishing this. Utilizing edge prep in your sharpening program can exponentially increase the tool life, with a noted reduction of cycle times..

  • Increase Tool Life

    Without edge preparation, the efficiency of the manufacturing operation are reduced with increased downtime and higher rates of waste as tools must be replaced more often. Using sharper “unprepared” tools may result in quicker cuts but without edge preparation the stress concentration at the edge is found to be a large cause of chipping.

    In addition sharper edges cause poorer heat dissipation and, with temperatures reaching upwards of 1000 deg c, can be another cause of tool failure. A properly edge prepped tool will allow heat to spread throughout the tool, reducing stresses and increasing the tool life.

*The edge prep process is done automatically on all high performance carbide drills bits and end mills by request.
